The initiative provides tangible empowerment through avenues like gifting cows for farming, sewing machines for self-earning, and additional support. This targeted assistance not only fosters economic independence but also cultivates resilience and self-sufficiency within the beneficiary women.
By addressing the unique challenges faced by widows and helpless women, MWO’s program seeks to catalyze positive change at the individual and community levels, contributing to a more empowered and inclusive society. The ripple effect of this empowerment is evident in the transformed lives and strengthened communities emerging from the Woman Empowerment Program.
The “Women Empowerment Program” aims to:
1. To uplift widows and helpless women in Local Communities and Cox’s Bazar.
2. To provide cows for farming, sewing machines for self-earning, and other forms of support to enhance economic independence.
3. To empower women, fostering resilience and positive change within the community.
Shumi Akter, a resilient widow residing in Chandina, Cumilla, found hope through MWO’s Woman Empowerment Program. Facing life’s challenges alone, she received support that transformed her circumstances. MWO provided Shumi with a sewing machine, empowering her to generate income through tailoring. Additionally, she was gifted a cow, opening avenues for sustainable farming. Shumi’s story reflects the impact of empowerment, not just as a beneficiary but as a testament to the positive change that MWO’s thoughtful initiatives bring to the lives of vulnerable women in local communities.
